Alchemy has made me fall in love with glass. I love glass containers.

Its ironic because glass has become like an enemy to my. Had a glass etching pen I dropped from my lab coat pocket [tungsten -carbide tip] and it shatter the glass table instantly. Little tiny pieces like a car windshield and 100 disposable test tubes as well.
Spent a lot of time cleaning up but it made me realize how much more focused I should haven been on iron retorts instead. And copper works too for some applications. I also broke so many flasks I should have had a reverberatory instead, with the full glass metal housing shield. Plus a reverberatory can be taken appart in the center for cleaning the dreg that love to harden to the falsifying, and it has a gasket ring so it doesn't explode.

I used a magnetized iron stir bar [dumb I know] and it got nice tornado going. But I was evaporating at the same time by leaving the stopper off. I calculated when the liquid [gold elixir I had done insane amount of work on] would be close to dry so I could replace the stir bar with a normal plastic or telfon one. But I left the room and fell asleep [this was about 4am] watching a movie. I awoke to gunshots being fired or fireworks rapidly going off.

When I entered the room, there were no flashes of light, and no smoke. Just the rapid machine gun fire of glass touching the super hot iron sphere as it spun around and around. No time for finding safety goggles so I prayed for protection as swiftly unpluged the unit.

I had to cool down the iron ball so the glass resting on top with all my precious gold would stop blowing up in my face. I can't believe nobody called the cops or even knocked on the door to see what the noise was. It was deafening loud noise, not just cracks and pops.

But since then I've been attacked by glassware basically. Almost supernaturally I'd say. Shelves I had screwed to the wall come flying at me during meditation, and again glass is everywhere. I just leave the vacuum in there now because I always need it.

Wow, maybe I can remove those demons Smile Sorry to hear about those losses.

Yeah you have so much more lab experience than me that you would have a way better idea of what instruments would work better for different types of work and why. I was mostly talking about fantasy since that is about all I have had to work with lately with not enough money yet to start my "plan" of lab work. I just love how clean and clear and beautiful glass can be and how nice a finished product would look in different types of small glass containers with powerful substances in them.

Over the months I have found myself at different times wanting to save clear beer style bottles or even salsa bottles with the hopes of one day brewing some kind of work in them, even though when I do start working it will most likely be with a more sturdy borosilicate lab glass. I just like its ability to be so clean and clear and not contaminate what's in it.

But yeah fantasy and inspiration is about all I have been working with lately. I do have a some gold leaf and silver that I keep is separate small clear glass bottles that essential oil came in waiting for the time when I get back to alchemy work..

Nice to hear from you Nick. I e-mailed you a couple days ago, maybe you will have time to respond if you find it. Stay it touch brotha.
