I started this topic because of increasing numbers of novices coming to this forum without any experience in Chemie and especially in Alchemy.

For the start i will suggest to start with Chemie and gain the basic knowledge of the elements in the periodic table.

The best presentation of the Periodic Table of the Elements you can find on the official site of the University of Nottingham called:

http://www.periodicvideos.com/

This is a project started by the profesors of this university to promote the Chemie to the younger audience by making a video for every single element in the Periodic Table. The videos contain valuable information about elements how they behave and react with each other and especially with the water (which makes many fun explosions), also the videos give some interesting background on the history of chemie and chemists in a very funny way.

I will be pleased if other experienced members contribute to this thread with theirs
recommendations.

Here is one interesting video for example:

Thanks for that link dejan07, I will be looking at that for a while. my cousin knows more than I do, but I pick it up pretty easy, as you can see from some of my post. I find alchemy and chemistry both very interesting, and I'm more of a visual/hands on learner. I think I'll check it out and see what I can learn.
