| I am in the process of creating my first "spagyric elixer" and have come across a few things I found hard and need a few tips with for when I do it again in the near-future.
1.) The burning of plant matter.
2.) The purifiying of the ash/charcoal so it becomes white/light gray as possible.
3.) A more effective way of chopping/powdering a herb.

| 1.) The burning of plant matter. Outside far from neighbors. When moon in a fire sign.
2.) The purifiying of the ash/charcoal so it becomes white/light gray as possible. Burn, sieve, burn, sieve.
3.) A more effective way of chopping/powdering a herb. You need to know what is the planetary ruler of the herb of interest. Ex. melissa -jupiter. Pick it with your right hand (avoid a knife) on a thursday in the hour of jupiter, growing moon, jupiter in good aspects to sun, moon, ASC, MC, Mars, mercury (at least a few). Dont use a blender. Wash with water before adding a spirit. The rest you know. Good luck!

| Thanks for the tips guys I have managed to burn the herbs and powder them then I added them to the spirit. but the ash was very low-grade so the spagyric will probably itself be low-grade but I will have more experiance on how to do herbal alchemy to use in the near-future. | |

| Thanks guys!
I have came across methords which include living the plant or herb in a room to dry out so you can reduce it to a powder easily will this effect the alchemical health and life of the herb/subject.
also its hard to find methords in alchemy and paths that work what do you think of roberts "real alchemy" book nick recomended it then just by chance I already had a copy and read throught it.

| There is one thing that is absolutely important to remember: you must always obtain a calcination of the herbs reaching the white color. The ashes should be perfectly white. Find the simple tricks, you need only a simple observation doing it for some times. Dark ashes could be carcinogenic.
And if it possible the herbs should be fresh.

| its a good thing I just disposed of the elixer instead of comsuming it. I am having a second go at a spagyic elixer.
This time it looks like I have managed to chop the herb up better this time around. the author of the book says you should "powder" the herb but this seems impossible without drying the herb out first. since there is water inside the plant so attempts to powder the herb result in a herbal paste rather than a *powder*.
what effects do you think this will have on the "light body" of the person if any since its a very basic elixer.

| succsess I have managed to purify the ash to light gray/white and it looks very pure. I have retured them to the sulfure and mercury of the plant.
I did it by drying burning grinding and siveing of the plant matter. then I put them on a fire and the carbon came out of it.

| Well done, the caput mortuum is of no use. You must leach the salt out of it.

| Tha matter of effect of substances is not so a mechanical/neurological thing. There can be some effect on the subtle bodies - in this case - if you prepare yourself with meditation and prayer/will. You can overpower a lot of things if your will is concentrated & pure but, at the end, and you can produce incredible effective substances, but the difference is always made by your will and spiritual strength. Even if you have a very powerful alchemic alkhaest, quintessence or stone, but don't have the same level of awareness and consciousness to "drive" its effect it can be even dangerous. The best luck to you. | |
